Report: Verizon favors VPLS over PBT

FierceTelecom: After BT recently back-burnered provider backbone transport technology, Verizon Communications is now said to be favoring widely deployed VPLS over new tech flavor PBT. The U.S. telco is looking to implement some aspects of provider backbone bridging, similar to PBT, in some areas, but initial interest is PBT has waned, according to sources who spoke to Light Reading.
