Carrier Ethernet services spotlight

Telecommunications Magazine: In our ongoing focus on carrier Ethernet services, we turn to our Tier 1 domestic providers. Verizon Business, who consistently vie with fellow stalwart AT&T for top carrier honors, claims Ethernet service revenues grew by more than 100 percent in 2007 over the previous year, even though Ethernet is only a small portion of the carrier’s overall data services portfolio. With over 13,000 ports in service as of 2007, up from 5,000 the year before, Verizon Business projects its Ethernet revenues to increase 60-80 percent through 2010. With all that in mind, we asked Alla Reznik, Verizon Business’ group manager of Ethernet marketing, to give us an overview of their offerings and business strategy.
